A MOTHER who uploads breast feeding videos to Youtube hit back at trolls who criticised her for still nursing her three-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
Leanne Allerton, 35, from Grimsby, shared footage of her feeding her little girl in May on her family and the clip has been watched almost a million times.
The three minute clip got a lot of attention from people who claimed the three-year-old was “too old” for breastfeeding.
While other comments included "sickening" and accusations that her daughter was "too damn big to be breastfeeding."
Another opinionated commenter said: “How do you expect your child to grow and prosper socially when they are still relying on your boobs for sustenance?
"This isn't natural. This is not wanting your child to grow up. It's not necessary. It's sickening honestly."
Another person added: "It most certainly is for the mum feeling she is a better mum when she ‘sacrifices’ herself in this way.
"It's a pity because the child is being taught total dependency rather than to independently soothe and feel self-sufficient."
Leanne told : “I post breastfeeding videos when I feel like talking about things because there will always be someone out there who is going through the same thing.
"You get a lot of nice suggestions but also a lot of abuse - those I tend to block and delete.
"But I'm shocked by how many views it has had."
Leanne continued to feed her son Georgie, now 5, until he was four years old and explained that she likes to give her children the choice about when is best to stop.
In the video Leanne explained that she had been breast feeding for a total of eight years for her children.
She said: "It's quite a large chunk of time and I am quite proud of myself. I am happy that I have done it."
Leanne explained that she felt breastfeeding should stop when the child is old enough to understand
In her interview Leanne continued: "With Georgie I just spoke with him, explaining he was becoming a big boy and it was time for him to stop.
"But even now he jokes with me, saying 'can I have baby milk, mummy?'"
Following the publication of her interview the defiant mum has been forced to continue to defend her decision.
In a Facebook post the Grimsby mum wrote: “I expected a lot of negativity from the articles today but seriously the comments actually made me laugh my head off, you just can't fix stupid can you?!”
But ended with a more positive message: “I just wanted to pop on and thank you guys for your continual support, not just from today but from having my back in the YouTube world aswell, thank you so much.”
