Randy retirees are STILL having sex several times a month – with older women compared to ‘Duracell bunnies’
RANDY Brits are still having sex several times a month well into retirement, a study found.
A fifth of pensioners get frisky on a regular basis – with women going at it “like Duracell bunnies”.
Sex toy manufacturers even report having customers aged 95.
Longer lifespans and better health mean people are now able to have sex at an older age.
One in five of those aged over 60 and one in six over 70 has sex at least several times a month.
And one in ten over 60 are bonking weekly.
But four in ten of the 1,330 elderly people quizzed for BBC Radio 5 Live Daily want even more.
Three times as many men as women moan they are not getting enough.
The main reason is an “unwilling” partner.
Others are physically unable to perform more often or are single.
Sex therapist Corinne Sweet said: “We’re all living longer and our expectations of older life have changed completely.
“When I was born people died at 60 whereas now people are thinking of it as a whole new life.
“It’s not just enough to go gardening or go bowling – they want a complete rounded life.”
But Corrine expressed surprise that more men said they were not getting enough, saying in her experience it was usually women who wanted more sex.
She added: “Women are more like Duracell bunnies when it comes to sex – they tend to keep going for longer.”
How many pensioners are getting down and dirty?

Samantha Evans, who runs a sex toy company, said many of her clients are elderly or in residential homes and have been recommended her products by NHS clinics.
She added: “My oldest customers were 95. Some are couples having a second honeymoon and some are widowed. They had great sex once and are now missing it.
“Some women have been struggling since the menopause and just need a good lubricant - which we sell a lot of.”
Three in ten men and four in ten women aged 60 and over never have sex.
Two thirds of those quizzed say they have sex less often now than ten years ago.
But three in ten of all people aged over 60 say sex remains an important part of their life.
This falls to one in four by the age of 75, with men placing a higher emphasis on it than women.
One in 25 say they are having too much sex and want less.
Joyce, who still has regular sex with her husband at the age of 82, said: “I think younger people have a vision of sex to do with glamour and smooth skin, six packs and beauty.
“When you’re older you don’t see that anymore, it’s not important.
“What’s important is the cherishing, the caring, the human contact, just the loving each other which is a different thing from the early years.
“One matures into the other one and that’s a very nice thing to happen.”
Mick, 60, who has been married for nearly 40 years, said: “It’s like an Olympic sport in your early twenties. But then it suddenly becomes very different.
“It’s about enjoying yourself – you’re not disrupted by anybody. As you get older you don’t feel the need to perform.”
