BURGER ME!

Teen orders absolutely NOTHING from McDonald’s… and still gets charged 99p

A TEENAGER has managed to order absolutely nothing from McDonald's - and still get charged 99p.

Freelance music producer Ari, 17, visited the fast food chain in Colchester, Essex, and ordered a cheese burger with a difference.

Using the self-service machine, he chose to remove the onion, pickles, cheese, burger bun AND beef patty - leaving him with absolutely nothing on the order.

For good measure, Ari also selected the 'no ketchup' and 'no mustard' options.

Staff must have been baffled to receive his order, number 56, as they tried to work out what to actually serve.

The teen even headed to the counter to pick up his order which was, unsurprisingly, just an empty bag.

He went on to tweet: "I just spent 99p for nothing from McDonald's. This tweet actually cost me money to make, I'm gonna be p***ed off if it doesn't blow up".

And blow up it did, racking up over 133,000 likes and 57,000 re-tweets since it was posted on Monday.

Of the Maccies worker who served him, he added: "I can confirm, he was very confused and told the staff as I left."

"I was going to ensure the gherkin was removed and then realised I could remove every single ingredient and of course tried it. I'm hungry but it was the funniest f***in thing," Ari later explained.

"The burger cost £0.99. The burger with every single ingredient removed cost £0.99."

Jared Jay B Boyd, from Memphis, USA, called Ari's joke "internet gold".

While PillowBlackmore said that it was "probably also the most healthy" thing Ari had ever ordered from the fast food giant.

And Henry Cobb joked: "Here in the USA rappers are only 50 cents."

Olivia Nellis added: "This is what people probably picture when they imagine a vegan ordering food".

Ari is not the only one to produce a ridiculous order from the McDonald's self-service machine.

Twitter user Merchant went viral back in March, after removing everything but the slice of processed cheese from his burger order. He too paid 99p.

In other news, Maccies unveiled its new luxury burger boxes earlier today - which will be the home for three new premium burgers, in a collaboration with fashion designer Julien Macdonald.
