Mumsnet user sparks debate by asking if other women would ‘be OK’ with a man doing their bikini wax… so what do YOU think?
The answers to the question proved quite a mixed bag
A WOMAN has taken to Mumsnet to ask other women how they would feel about a male beautician doing their intimate WAXING.
The post, which was shared in the, started quite the debate amongst mums – with many saying they wouldn’t want “strange men down there”.
In a post titled “Male beauticians and waxing”, the woman asked: “This is based on a friend’s experience.
“We've been discussing it at length and I'm interested in others thoughts.
“So would you be ok with a male beautician doing intimate waxing?
“Would it depend on quite how intimate, so a bikini wax would be OK, but all off not so much?
“I'm not actually sure myself. A part of me thinks it's no different to a male doctor or nurse and I'd be fine with that.
“Definitely wouldn't have a problem with any other beauty treatments being done by a man, but waxing that involves no underwear, I'm not sure!”
Needless to say, the post was soon flooded with responses – and the answers proved quite a mixed bag.
Some said that having a male waxer “wouldn’t bother” them, while others admitted they “wouldn’t be happy” with having a man carry out an intimate procedure.
One wrote: “I don't want any intimate procedures done by men. I accept that it might be necessary e.g. male doctor but not for non-essential stuff.”
Another added: “It wouldn’t bother me. I am sure that they are professionals.
“No different to female beauty therapists waxing male private parts.”
A third said: “Eyebrows fine, bikini no.
“I don't want any strange men down there unless it's necessary.”
Someone else added that they would cancel their appointment if they found out their beautician was a man.

The continued: “I absolutely would mind and would cancel the appointment if that was my only choice.”
One woman said that she cringes when a woman waxes “down there” – so couldn’t even fathom having a man do so.
She added: “It's not that I would ever think there's something sexual about it, it would just make me feel very self-conscious.”
Meanwhile, others were fare more blasé about the idea, with one user stating matter-of-factly: “Can't say I'd give a rat's a***, nope. But I also sort myself out.”
