Choc fans convinced Cadbury’s orange Twirl ‘doesn’t exist’ as chocolate bar ‘sells out’ in some shops
SHOPPERS are starting to wonder if Cadbury's new chocolate orange Twirl even exists after struggling to hunt down the bar in shops.
The highly anticipated treat went on sale on September 23 but a week later and fans still can't get their hands on it.
Part of the problem could be that the limited edition bars, which are only on sale while stocks last, have only been available in selected conveniences store up until now.
But there is good news for shoppers as Cadbury says the new concoction will be rolled out to Co-op, Morrisons, and Spar from next week, so you should have more of a chance to nab the bar.
One frustrated fan tweeted: "I am starting to think the @CadburyUK orange Twirl is a ploy to mess with our heads and search out bars that don’t exist??
"I’ve looked all over and also have people looking on high alert. Twitter help me has anyone actually found one? 🍊🍫 #orangetwirl #cadbury"
Someone else said the same: "I’m convinced this Cadbury’s orange Twirl isn’t even really a thing because I cannot find it anywhere!🍊🍫 @CadburyUK #golddust"
Food blogger KevsSnackReviews also tweeted: "So has anyone seen one of these mythical Cadbury orange Twirls yet? If so where?"
Even today, some shoppers say they still haven't been able to get their hands on the fabled treat.
One person tweeted this morning: "I'm still searching, but I am yet to find any. I NEED an orange Twirl!"
While someone else added: "Been quite a day so far, searching can be tiresome... no leads, too late at times, door to door with poor communication etc...
"But I’m hopeful we will find an orange Twirl today."
One fan recommends trying Londis where she finally found the treat on sale.
She tweeted: "After over a week long search, in various shops, I finally got the tip off I’d been looking for and found the elusive Orange Twirl 🍊🍫
"So proud of myself for staying strong and refusing to give up the search. Follow your dreams people."
She later told people commenting on the post she found the elusive chocolate in Londis.
The chocolate orange version comes in the usual 43g two-finger packet and has a recommended retail price of 65p - although retailers can set their own prices.
Twirl's first came out 35 years ago, and in 2018 they came .
But this is the first time the classic Twirl bar has had a new flavour in the UK.
A Cadbury spokesperson said: "The reaction to the launch of Cadbury Twirl Orange has been incredible and the product is in very high demand.
"The limited edition bars have been available from September 23 in selected convenience stores across the country and will also be available in Co-op, Morrisons and Spar nationwide from next week while stocks last."
