Thanks to supermarket deals that usually shoot up at this time of year it doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg either.

We've taken a closer look at what's on offer this year to find you the best value for cash on your sparklers, rockets and finale boxes.

So far, Aldi, Costco and Lidl are the only retailers that have released details of their ranges and Tesco is expected to launch its range on Tuesday (October 15) where prices will range from £5 to £100.

We expect more retailers to follow suit over the next few weeks so we'll update this round up when we know more.

How do you safely light fireworks?

AS fireworks can be dangerous it is important to be very careful and take precautions on Bonfire Night:

  • Make sure that you’re buying your fireworks from somewhere reputable, for example: a supermarket or a specialist party retailer.
  • Do not buy fireworks if the boxes look like they’ve been tampered with or damaged.
  • Always read the packet carefully and make sure that the fireworks you buy are suitable for the place where you are going to set them off. Some fireworks can only be bought and used by professionals.
  • Just one person should be in charge of fireworks, and this person should be sober.
  • Always make sure you preparing in advance and in daylight.
  • You should light fireworks at arm’s length using a taper and stand well back.
  • Sparklers can reportedly get five times hotter than cooking oil – so never give them to a child under five and make sure to wear gloves when you light them.

It's important to remember though that fireworks can be dangerous - it's not all about the cheapest price.

You'll need to be 18 or older to buy fireworks and most retailers will only sell them to you in stores. Remember to bring your ID with you.

Aldi has already announced what you can expect from its firework range even though they don't go on sale until October 15 (next Tuesday).

And while the discounter offers home delivery on most Specialbuys, you'll need to visit a store if you want to buy them.

Sparklers, £1.29: These sparklers come in packs of 21 meaning that each glow stick costs around 6p. They're each 10 inches long and emit a golden sparkle for up to 45 seconds each.

Rockets, £5.99: You can pick up a pack of eight rockets for under £6 from the retailer. Each rocket varies in colour and shoot upwards of 50m before exploding. An individual rocket lasts between eight and ten seconds.

Finale box, £59.99: The Big Boom Fireworks box is sure to end your display with a bang. Each box has 19 fireworks inside, including two fountains, one drive wheel, four flying rockets and three shot tubes among others.

Costco - starting from £56.89

Costco is a bulk-buying store that lets shoppers save cash in the long-run by multi-buying, even if it means you have to stump up more money upfront.

Bulk-buying can make each item cheaper but remember it's only worth it if you're going to use them all, otherwise you're just wasting money.

You also have to be a member before you can shop there. It costs £15 a year for an online membership and £33.60 to shop in store.

But its fireworks are in store now.

Sparklers, £64.99: A box of 72 packs of sparklers will set you back almost £65. Each pack contains five 40cm sticks, which means you'll be getting 360 sparklers in total. It makes each one 18p - 12p more than the ones from Aldi.

Rockets, £179.89: Costco is selling six packs of three extra large flash rockets for under £180. That's 18 rockets in total and makes each one just under £10.

Finale box, £56.89: The retailer has a range of epic finale boxes that can cost up to £119.89. The cheapest is the box that contains 58 different shots. Each shot lasts 40 seconds.

Lidl - starting at £1.99

The discounter will be stocking its fireworks range from October 15.

You won't be able to order them online so you'll need to head to your nearest store where you'll find them in the middle aisles.

Sparklers, £1.99: Lidl's giant sparklers are back this year. They come in packs of 12.

Rockets, £7.99: A pack of seven standard Dyno rockets costs £7.99, making each firework cost £1.14. They are on offer for three for £20, so you'll be saving £3.97 in the deal.

Finale box, £39.99: Back this year is the Beefeater crowd pleaser. It contains red and green brocade explosions, glitter bursts and golden palms.

The display lasts 45 seconds and will only need to be lit once. Guidelines say you'll need to stand at least 25 meters away once the box goes off.

Every year, Bonfire Night falls on November 5, which is a Tuesday this year.

The famous rhyme: "Remember, remember the fifth of November," relates to the celebration as it marks the anniversary of the foiling of the Gunpowder Plot on November 5, 1605.

Bonfire night is a night of celebration but it's also important to stay safe. Here's our guide to the first aid every parents need to know from burns to smoke inhalation.

Parents should also be aware that kids Halloween costumes that catch fire in TWO seconds are still on sale at supermarkets and high street stores.
