Asda is selling heart-shaped sausages for Valentine’s Day

ASDA wants you and your loved one to have a sizzling Valentine's Day night with its heart-shaped sausages - yes, really.

Available to buy now, the supermarket says its cheeky Extra Special love heart Cumberland bangers are ideal for a “perfect cosy night in”.

Priced at £3.70 for a pack of four sausages, each porker has been bent into the shape of a love heart for the ultimate Valentine's gesture.

The sausages are made with British pork, thyme, sage, nutmeg and cayenne pepper for a hint of spice.

But before you go frying up the lot, you might want to take note that each banger contains 264 calories and 21g of fat.

If you’re already sold, the sausages are available to buy now in any of Asda’s 630 supermarkets until March.

Shoppers can use the to locate your nearest shop.

Alternatively, you can buy them on the - although there’s a £25 minimum spend and a delivery charge of between £1 and £6.50 depending on when you choose to get your groceries deliveries.

Asda’s Product Developer Amanda Hill said: "Nothing says ‘I love you’ more than a novelty-shaped sausage.

"Novelty products are always well received by our customers, who love to serve-up something special, and we expect the Love Heart Cumberland Pork Sausages to be no different."

We've yet to see other love-themed sausages being released by other UK supermarkets, but watch this space as we get closer to February 14.

M&S was mocked last year when it released a "Love Sausage" for Valentine's Day with posh shoppers finding the name hilarious.

In some not-so-good news for Asda shoppers, the supermarket has sneakily trimmed down their own-brand pizzas while raising prices at the same time.
