URGENT RECALL

Iceland recalls Chinese takeaway ‘banquet’ ready meal over allergy fears

ICELAND shoppers are being urged to check if they've got the supermarket's 'Chinese Banquet' takeaway-style ready meal as it's been recalled over allergy fears.

The frozen food specialist says the spring rolls within its "Takeaway No 26 Chinese Banquet" box contain milk, which isn't mentioned on the label.

This means the spring rolls are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents - often known as being lactose intolerant.

Symptoms of an intolerance can include diarrhoea, stomach cramps and pains, and nausea.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) says anyone who has bought the meal and has an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, shouldn't eat it.

They should instead return it to the store where it was bought for a full refund.
