Morrisons is selling two rib-eye steaks with chips for just £5
MORRISONS is selling two rib-eye steaks with chips for a fiver - perfect if you're planning a feast this payday weekend.
Overall, the steaks weigh 400g while each bag of chips contains 1.2kg of potatoes.
The offer is available in a majority of Morrisons stores, and not online. You can find your nearest one using .
It's only available until March 1 though, but there's no limit on how many steaks you can nab.
The twin-pack of steaks has been rolled specifically for this deal, and is usually not up for grabs at Morrisons.
In comparison, a 200g single steak costs £4 at the supermarket, or you can currently get two for £7.
Here's how to cut the cost of your grocery shop
WE spoke to Hannah Maundrell, editor of Money.co.uk, about how you can cut the cost of your shopping bills.
- Write yourself a list - Only buy items that you need. If it isn't on your list, don't put it in the trolley
- Create a budget - Work out a weekly budget for your food shopping
- Never shop hungry - you are far more likely to buy more food if your tummy is rumbling
- Don't buy pre-chopped veggies or fruit - The extra they'll charge for chopping can be eye watering
- Use social media - follow your favourite retailers to find out about the latest deals
- Be disloyal - You may want to go to different stores to find the best bargains
- Check the small print - It’s always worth checking the price per kg/lb/litre when comparing offers so you’re making a like for like decision as a bigger box won’t necessarily mean you get more
- Use your loyalty cards - Don’t be afraid to sign up to them all. They all work slightly differently - work out what bonus suits you better and remember to trade in your points for additional rewards
While the steak cut chips included in the £5 offer otherwise cost £1, down from £1.37.
Morrisons is offering the cheapest rib-eye steak we could find, with Asda's prices starting at £3.70 for 227g of meat.
It's followed by Tesco at £3.90 for the same weight, while Sainsbury's is selling a slightly smaller 21-day matured steak weighing 225g for £4.30.
Asda offers the cheapest chips setting you back £1.25 for a 1.5kg bag, compared to £1.50 for same-sized packs at Sainsbury's and Tesco.
Josh Brockbank, Morrisons' steak buying manager, said: "We’re really proud of our steaks, so what better way to spend the weekend than with a slap-up rib eye and chips supper - all for a fiver!"
