POST Office branches should be largely operating as normal today although opening times may be reduced because of the bank holiday.
Services provided shouldn't be affected and people will still be able to collect benefits and pay bills, as well as the usual letter and parcel sending facilities.

There are around 11,500 Post Office branches across the UK, the majority of which are run independently or as a franchise arrangement.
However the Royal Mail won't be collecting or delivering post today as January 3, 2022, is a bank holiday.

If you pop down to your local Post Office and it's closed, there should be a poster in the window saying where your nearest open branch is.

Post Offices up and down the country provide many more services than simply buying stamps and sending letters and parcels.
It can also supply packing supplies such as padded envelopes and other items needed to send items through the mail safely and securely.
You can also use your Post Office to access your high street bank account and make withdrawals, deposits, balance enquiries and more.
Customers can also verify documents via the Post Office's GOV.UK services.
It can also be used to apply or renew your passport.
Many Post Offices will also sell other items such as greetings cards and magazines.
