Hundreds of Aldi shoppers QUEUE to get on its website as home delivery boxes sell out
ALDI shoppers were queuing to get on the supermarket’s website this morning as the grocer launched its new home delivery food boxes, which have now sold out.
Customers faced virtual queues with hundreds of fellow shoppers ahead of them when they tried to access Aldi online.
When The Sun tried to get online this morning, there were 668 shoppers in front of us.
A message on the Aldi website read: "We're very sorry, but there are currently lots of people trying to access the Aldi website.
"We've automatically placed you in a queue. Don't worry about refreshing - this page will update automatically as soon as you can enter the site."
The wait times were short, however, with most shoppers having to wait less than a minute.
It comes after Aldi announced it would be selling food and essential boxes for home delivery, with the parcels going on sale today, April 17.
They were sold out by around 10.20am this morning.
The boxes, which are designed to help vulnerable and elderly shoppers who can't leave their home, cost £24.99 and contain 22 items.
These items include soup, pasta, antibacterial hand wash and toilet roll.
They're being limited to one per customer, per week, and the supermarket is asking shoppers to give vulnerable and elderly people priority.

Aldi says there is currently no planned end date for when these parcels will be pulled from sale.
The supermarket told The Sun it expects to replenish the food parcels each day.
An Aldi spokesperson said: “Our food parcels have proved incredibly popular, and have now sold out for today.
“We expect to have new stock available daily for customers to purchase.”
The parcels are only available online, meaning Aldi shoppers won't find them in stores.
As delivery is free for orders over £20, customers don't need to pay extra to get the boxes sent to their home.
Orders under £20 cost £2.95 for standard delivery.

Other supermarkets have also launched their own food boxes.
Morrisons' version costs £35 and contains 20 items, while M&S' boxes are also £35 and are filled with 20 products.
Aldi shoppers will want to know that the supermarket has recently extended its opening times.
The change in opening hours comes shortly after Aldi said it would stop selling some of its famous Specialbuys in the middle aisle of stores.
