Morrisons expands its same-day Amazon grocery delivery service

By the end of the month 23 extra Morrisons stores will be included in the service, a rise from 17 in March.

Morrisons says by the end of the month the app will be available to shoppers in the 10 largest UK cities by population including Edinburgh, Cardiff, Bristol, and 90 per cent of Greater London.
Areas including Leicester and Stoke-on-Trent are also being added and a full list of the new locations will be released by the supermarket by the end of the month.
The shop says the extra locations are being added in response to the coronavirus pandemic which has seen a huge rise in shoppers wanting home deliveries.
Online shopping slots have been hard to come at all UK supermarkets, including Morrisons.
It first started selling through Amazon four years ago and last year added five extra cities to its list, bringing the total to nine.
The service is only available for people who pay for Amazon Prime and it’s included for no extra cost in the basic membership.
Shoppers can do a full Morrisons shop which is picked at their local store and delivered on the same day during a two-hour delivery window between 8am and midnight.
The shop said most of the new locations are already listed on the Prime Now website or app. To find out if you can access the same-day service you can enter your postcode and you'll be shown local availability.
Once you've picked a basket of shopping you then pick a two-hour window, although when we tried from central London there were currently no slots available.
Locations currently include Birmingham & Coventry, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Northampton, Nottingham, Portsmouth, Sheffield, Southend-on-Sea, Stoke-on-Trent, and Swansea.
The cost of Amazon Prime is £7.99-a-month or £79-a-year and you might have to pay a delivery fee on top.
The minimum order cost is £15 and there is a £3.99 delivery fee for orders under £40.
