DFS to reopen 88 showrooms tomorrow – see the full list
FURNITURE retailer DFS is reopening another 88 showrooms this Friday, May 29.
It comes after the homeware chain reopened its first three showrooms since the coronavirus shutdown last week.
DFS closed all its stores on March 23 and temporarily stopped all deliveries.
The retailer has now restarted limited deliveries across England - however, it won't deliver to any home where the customer is shielding.
In these instances, DFS says it will offer a revised doorstep delivery option, or will store the order until the delivery can be fulfilled safely.
DFS has around 120 shops in the UK.
The furniture retailer hasn’t said when its remaining shops will open.
The update from DFS follows the government easing restrictions on homeware retailers and garden centres.
Other homeware retailers, including Furniture Village, Dunelm and Ikea have also started reopening branches.
Nick Smith, managing director of DFS, said: “We have assessed and adapted our processes across our manufacturing, retail and delivery operations to ensure we can prioritise colleague and customer safety.
“We have been careful to test these new operating processes by reopening just a handful of stores to begin with before expanding more widely across our estate.
“While the relatively larger size of DFS’ stores means we can effectively maintain strict social distancing, by implementing additional safety measures in line with government and British Retail Consortium guidance.”
