Spicy oven barbecue ribs
Serves 6 - £2.52 per person
Preparation time: 10 mins
Cooking time: 2 hours 20 mins

YOU NEED:
Ribs:
- 2kg Morrisons British pork ribs
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp paprika
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cracked black pepper
- ½ tsp cumin
- 1 tsp cayenne
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Sauce:
- 500ml BBQ sauce
- 2 cloves of garlic crushed
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 finely diced red chilli (optional)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper

- Preheat the oven to 180C and line a baking tray with tin foil.
- Peel any membrane from the bony underside of the ribs.
- Mix the dry ingredients for the ribs together with the olive oil – garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper, cumin and cayenne.
- Sprinkle over the ribs and then massage into the meat on both sides.
- Put on to the prepared tray and bake for two hours.
- Mix together the sauce ingredients while the ribs are in the oven.
- Remove ribs and increase oven temperature to 240C
- Spread the sauce mixture over the top and return to the oven and bake for a further ten minutes.
- Turn on the grill and put the ribs under for a further ten minutes to lightly char the edges.
Baked fries
Serves 4 – 22p per person
Preparation time: 10 mins
Cooking time: 45 mins

YOU NEED:
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tsp polenta
- ½ tsp paprika
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- 2 large Maris Piper potatoes, cut into 1cm chips
METHOD:
- Heat oven to 200C. Pour the oil on to a baking tray and put in the oven for five mins.
- Mix polenta, paprika and garlic powder together.
- Toss the chips in the mix, then tip on to the tray.
- Shake well, then cook for 40 mins, shaking halfway through, until crisp and golden.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Lay on the kitchen paper to take up any excess oil and serve.
Mac and cheese
Serves 4 – 91p per serving
Preparation time: 10 mins

YOU NEED:
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 350g macaroni pasta
- 1 egg
- 475ml milk
- 30g butter, melted until liquid
- 275g grated Cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste

- Preheat oven to 180C. Lightly grease a 2-litre serving dish with the olive oil.
- In a large pot of salted water, lightly boil the macaroni for about five minutes until half cooked.
- In a bowl beat the egg and milk together.
- Add butter and cheese to the egg and milk. Stir well. Season with salt and pepper.
- Place the lightly cooked macaroni in the prepared baking dish.
- Pour the egg and cheese liquid on top.
- Bake uncovered, for 30 to 40 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
