McDonald’s is launching a tasty new breakfast roll this week to add to morning menu
MCDONALD'S is releasing a brand new breakfast roll this week to add to its morning menu.
The new brekkie addition contains sausage, egg, cheese and bacon - and it looks similar to the popular McMuffins.
It features the same sausage patty, bacon and egg that's used in McMuffins.
But instead of a muffin, the breakfast roll is made with a soft white bap. It also comes with a choice of ketchup or brown sauce.
You also don't need to pick between bacon and sausage with the new breakfast roll, unlike McMuffins.
McDonald's fans will be able to tuck into one from this Wednesday, October 21, for £2.79.
McDonald's breakfast menu
MCDONALD'S breakfast is served between 5am to 11am, seven days a week.
Here's what you'll find:
- Sausage and egg McMuffin
- Double sausage and egg McMuffin
- Bacon and egg McMuffin
- Double bacon and egg McMuffin
- Egg and cheese McMuffin
- Bacon roll
- Hash brown
- Cheesy bacon flatbread
- Pancakes and syrup
- Pancakes and sausage with syrup
- Muffin and jam
In comparison, a single sausage and egg McMuffin, or single bacon and egg McMuffin cost £2.59, while an egg and cheese McMuffin would come to £2.19.
This is the first time the tasty looking menu addition will be sold in the UK, having previously only been part of Ireland McDonald's breakfast menu.
In Ireland, a breakfast roll with ketchup contains 515 calories, while it's 517 calories for one with brown sauce.
We've asked McDonald's if this is the same for the UK version and we'll update this article when we know more.
The new release won't be much comfort for Maccies addicts who've been calling for the return of the breakfast wrap.
The fast food chain hasn't sold wraps as part of its breakfast range since reopening - in fact, it didn't serve breakfast at all during its initial comeback.
A spokesperson said: "McDonald's is continually looking at safe ways to bring back fan favourite items and are currently unable to offer the breakfast wrap while maintaining social distancing."
Breakfast at McDonald's is served in all restaurants between 5am and 11am.
