How shaving foam can help keep your house shiny and clean on a budget
KEEPING your house shipshape and shiny is about to get more expensive.
One major maker of cleaning products has said it will be hiking prices as its own costs rise.
But experts at bathroom design firm Drench recommend shaving foam as an unlikely hero for multiple uses in the home.
Here are some ideas to help you clean up on a budget . . .
DE-FOGGER: Tired of getting foggy mirrors after a shower? Shaving foam can be used to prevent mirrors misting and cleans with a streak-free finish.
Lather shaving foam on your mirrors, leave for a minute then wipe off with a clean, dry towel.
SOFA SO GOOD: Stains on your micro-suede furniture? Shaving foam is your new best friend. (For this one, be sure to use cream, not gel.)
Cover stained areas in shaving cream and leave for 20 minutes. Wipe the sofa with a clean, damp cloth then suck out excess water with a water-suction vacuum.

Let it air-dry and your sofa will be good as new.
MAKES SCENTS: Shaving foam can shift odours too. Use it to clean the basin of your toilet and things will smell fresh.
It works well on the grout between your tiles, too. So get scrubbing those floors.
A KIT FOR THE KITCHEN: If you notice burn marks and a build-up of grime on your glass hob, try covering the electric hob in shaving foam.
Leave for 15 minutes, then simply wipe it all away.
CAR-SEAT SAVER: If light-coloured car upholstery looks grubby, shaving foam can help. Using your hands, rub the foam into the car seats, give it a good scrub with a sponge and then rinse using a cloth and warm water.
A FLOOR UNTO ITSELF: Shaving foam can lift stains out of carpet too.
If you have some make-up stains, spillages or even nail varnish on your carpet, massage foam into the area and leave for ten minutes.
Then wipe away the foam with a damp cloth.
