You can buy a 14-bedroom MEGA mansion for £450k – but there’s a pretty big catch
A WHOPPING 14-bed mega-mansion has gone on the market for £450,000 - but there's a huge catch.
The dreamy property in Bolton doesn't actually exist yet.
Instead, the ambitious new owner will fork out for a row of eight terraced cottages - before knocking through walls to completely transform the homes.
All eight properties are going under the hammer for between £40,000 and £60,000.
The empty mill cottages were initially built to house workers.
Even if they're sold separately, most will need big renovations - while one must have a complete refurbishment to be habitable.
Edward Feather, associate director at Pugh Auction, said: “Six of the cottages have two bedrooms and two of them have one bedroom.
“Seven of the cottages are habitable but all of them need updating and one of them needs total refurbishment.”

Auctioneers say the bargain houses are perfect for investors or first-time buyers who want to start from scratch.
But it's possible one savvy buyer will seize the opportunity to completely recreate the properties and transform them into a dream home.
The properties were built to house workers at Nelson Mill, which stands just a few metres up the road.
Mr Feather said: “The row of cottages is close to Chorley Old Road which is a busy residential area with shops and lots of facilities.
“Gaskell Community Primary School is directly opposite the cottages.
STUNNING COTTAGES
“Thomasson Park is nearby and the centre of Bolton is only a mile away.”
The online auction opens for bids next Tuesday, October, 19, and closes the following day.
“While the eight cottages are being offered individually, it’s a condition of sale that all eight properties need to meet their individual reserves for a sale of any of the properties to take place," Mr Feather said.
“If any of the eight properties do not meet their reserve then none of the properties will be sold, regardless of whether their reserves have been met or not.
“The reserve prices range from £40,000 to £60,000 and the total guide price for all eight properties is £450,000.”
BIDS ACCEPTED
Another home is also currently available for auction for the knock-down price of £9,000.
The property in Derbyshire needs work, but it's in good shape and offers a surprisingly amount of bang for the buyer's buck.
And at the other end of the property scale is a five-bedroom cottage in Somerset on the market for £1million.
