SKY customers can get as much as £160 off the price of their bill with a simple cashback trick.

It's an offer to entice new customers to sign up to the broadband and TV giant, but they have to go through another site first to cash-in.

You can get your up-to-£160.00 back when you buy either a Sky broadband or TV subscription through cashback giant, .

You can also get £120 when you sign up for Sports and TV or £130 back with Sky TV, Superfast broadband and Sky Pay as You Talk.

There's also £115 you can get back for a number of of the telly and Wi-Fi giant's broadband deals on offer too.

Remember, you should always compare other deals too as something with a better return might be on offer after you've done a little digging.

But with the cashback offers, it's important that you buy the packages through Top Cashback, or you could find yourself out of pocket when you don't see the money return otherwise.

We've asked Sky if existing customers can cash-in on the deal too, and we'll update this story once we know more - for now though you'll have to be a newbie to be quids-in.

TopCashback offers cash incentives for customers to shop through its website.

The site receives a small commission as a result, but "100%" of that goes back to you.

Often it will mean users will manage to make £1,000s just by doing their regular online shopping - it's said in the past that users earn an average of £300 cashback a year.

Unlike some other ways of saving, cashback sites involve minimal faff - the cashback sites will ultimately do the work for you.

They strike deals with retailers and as a result pay you for purchases you make online - so long as it's through their links, that is.

You don't have to pay to sign up but you might need to pass on a few details like your email and your name.

Then, when you're ready to shop, all you have to do is go to the usual website where you want to make a purchase - but instead of going there direct, you go through the cashback site.

You'll earn earn a percentage of your purchase back, but it will depend on what deal is on offer and which retailer you use.

For example, if you spend a tenner through a 10% cashback deal, you'd get £1 back for your trouble.

The lowest price for something like Sky Q starts from £26 a month, and if you add broadband as well you'll pay at least £33.

You're also tied in for 18 months at a time when you commit to the contract so it's a significant investment.

In that time you could be spending as much as £594, so the cashback could slash that down to £434 at the very least.

It's the perfect time to slash broadband and TV bills as many Brits snuggle up for a Christmas movie or two, but they're not the only services that cashback is redeemable on.

Martin Lewis has previously explained how you can even use cashback sites to get free food and drink if you prefer.

But you should be careful with the sites, as tracking problems can occur meaning there is the possibility you won't be paid.

Storing money you earn on the site isn't as safe as a bank or savings account either, so experts warn you withdraw anything you earn straight away.

You should always be sure to shop around too as there might be a better offer on the table elsewhere - it's also important to avoid buying a product or a service just because of the cash back offer.

Like Sky's offers, you could be tied in for longer than you might need, and end up going over budget as a result.
