MONEY saving mogul Gemma Bird has come up with a top trick that could help you save more than £700 for next Christmas.
The social media guru's help will be welcomed by families feeling the pinch this year, as the cost of Christmas can quickly mount up once you include food, presents and decorations.
Gemma's tips can help you save hundreds of pounds in time for next year's festivities by simply putting aside £2 a day.
It may be a bit late to save money for this Christmas, but the mum-of-two has shared her latest savings tip, that she already uses successfully for her kid's birthdays, with her .
She suggests scrapping a takeaway coffee during the week, but keeping your caffeine hit for the weekend.
You could then save at least £2 to set aside each day for Christmas.
“Just after Christmas Day this year, put away £2 each day, that’s £14 per week and that’s Christmas sorted for next year.
“You save £728 if you start the day after Christmas Day.
“Don’t get stuck between now and next Christmas, this should cover a lot of the presents and the food.”
Gemma is no stranger to dishing out the latest on how to save money.
The 40-year-old from Essex has revealed everything from being frugal at Christmas to halving your weekly shopping bill in her Fabulous columns.
She told The Sun: “I haven’t done it this year for Christmas but putting away £2 everyday is pretty much what I have done for the kid’s birthdays.
“You can adapt the amount based on your mindset.
“If you only spend £200 that you could do 50p day.
“We save the money by cutting out takeaway coffees during the week but I still have them on weekends as you need to have some treats.”
