You’ve been shopping at Home Bargains all wrong – here are four ways to bag a bargain
THERE'S no better place to hunt for a good deal than in Home Bargains - the clue is in the name.
But how can you make your money go further at the discount retailer? We reveal four ways to bag the best offers.
Home Bargains stocks plenty of everyday household products at already low prices, but every now and then it will slash costs with special "star buys" and limited time sales.
Plus, the store has its own of range of products that look strikingly familiar to rivals' more pricey options.
That means bagging a Home Bargains dupe is a good way to make your wallet happy too.
But remember that it's only a deal if you were planning on buying anyway.

You shouldn't buy something just because it's a bargain price, or discounted, otherwise you might go over budget.
You should also have a shop around before you splash out.
Home Bargains has big competition from the likes of B&M and The Range, so you might find there's a better deal on offer elsewhere.
But if you are set on hunting down the best discounts at Home Bargains, here's how you can do it:

Reach for the 'Star Buys'
Usually located near the front of the store, Home Bargains will always promote a few products as its "Star Buys" that week.
Think of them a bit like Aldi's Specialbuys which come and go frequently and shoppers always race to snap up.
At Home Bargains though, it's usually top products that have been slashed in price.
For example, the store has slashed the price of heated clothes dryers in the past and billed the product as a must-have "Star Buy".
Originally the dryer was £35 but shoppers only had to fork out £17 once the new limited offer price was in place - saving £18 in the process.
These offers will change weekly though, so you'll have to be quick to snap them up, and stock can be subject to availability so you're not guaranteed to find it in your local store.
You can use to track down your closest, and it might be worth ringing ahead if you want to check that there's enough to go round.
But if you're looking for more slashed prices then new openings are also a good way to track them down.
When a new branch opens it can often come with deals and offers on the first day so they're always worth visiting to try your luck - it's not guaranteed though, and the offers won't likely stick around for long.
Dodge designer, go for a dupe
As well as saving its customers money on their regular food and homeware shops, Home Bargains is also known to stock items which look like designer products for much less.
Just last month a Home Bargains shopper raved about the store's £4.99 perfume which they claimed was a perfect dupe of the £59 Jimmy Choo Original.
You can also use the store to your advantage to snap up a cheaper copy of something that's typically more expensive elsewhere, like a hanging egg chair, or garden sofa set and more.
The store is selling a for just £28 for example, compared to a that B&M is selling.
It's only a £2 difference but the savings can start to stack up if you're looking to give your garden a make-over this summer.

If you're checking out deals you'll first be met with a banner to sign up to its newsletter.
You shouldn't pass up the chance either as it could mean you'll be one of the first to know about all the best bargains.
You'll have to pop your email into the box when prompted, but it means offers, the latest product launches, and new seasonal trends are straight to your inbox.
But beware that you might be tempted into buying things you don't need.
It's a free tip to try though, and once you've had enough of the emails you can unsubscribe at any time too.
Get it while it's 'hot'
You're not going to find all the best offers just on Home Bargains site though - or it's going to take you a very long time to hunt them down at least.
Online communities like hotukdeals, for example, will flag every deal you need to know about what's live at the store.
It's a place for other shoppers to share their finds, and they'll often post which branch they found the bargain in, as well as how much they saved.
To try it out yourself, just in the bar at the top of the site and everything that's on offer will pop up.
You can even set alerts for when any and every Home Bargains deal goes live so you never miss a trick.
At the moment there's over 50 deals currently active.
One shopper revealed that a had been slashed down to just 49p at the Home Bargains store in St. Georges retail park in Leicester for example.
The announcement will have saved other fans over £13.50 and as much as 96%.
Meanwhile, a shopper from Christchurch revealed that Strongbow Rosê cider had been at their local Home Bargains store.
