Primark has launched its new website in the UK today

It features thousands of Primark products, including fashion, homeware, lifestyle and beauty.

Shoppers will be able to check whether their favourite items are in stock in their size at their nearest store for the first time.

More product information will also be available, including fabrics and materials.

The new website is live in the UK now, and new features will be rolled out in the coming months.

That will include customer accounts, a newsletter, and the ability to create a wish list.

However, shoppers still won't be able to order online for collection or home delivery.

That means you'll still have to head to your nearest Primark store to make a purchase.

Primark boss Paul Marchant said: “We know [shoppers] want to browse the latest collections online and be able to check availability, which is what our new website makes possible for the first time.

"This new website and new features mark a significant step forward for our business and represent a shift in the role of digital at Primark."

The stock availability tool is based on a traffic light system.

Green indicates the product is in stock, orange shows it is running low and red means it has sold out.

Grey means that the item isn't sold at your chosen store.

Primark announced plans for a new website in January, originally saying it would open at the end of March.

It first teased a new site last year, exciting shoppers.

Previously, shoppers could just see a snippet of the latest products but no stock information.

There was also an option to buy a gift card.

The website has launched in the UK first and will be rolled out to 13 other countries by the end of September.

The retailer has 400 stores globally and nearly 200 in the UK.
