Tesco warns shoppers of major Clubcard shake-up – how to avoid missing out on vouchers
TESCO has warned shoppers of a major shake-up that's on the way for its loyalty card scheme.
The supermarket giant is changing the way some get their Clubcard statements.
And that means they might not see vouchers arrive in their usual fashion either.
From next week Tesco will no longer send out the paper versions of the statements or vouchers to selected customers.
Shoppers will have to specifically tell the retailer they want to keep receiving them that way, or else be automatically moved over to emailed copies instead.
The change is due to impact customers who regularly use Tesco's online services.

If that's you, you should get an email from the store letting you know about the changes on the way and what to do next.
But anybody who doesn't receive an email, shouldn't be affected by the automatic switch.
The supermarket has said the move is make sending out statements more sustainable.
You can choose to receive your statements, vouchers and coupons by email, text message or post though.
And if you download the Tesco Clubcard app, you'll be able to use your vouchers and coupons straight from your phone with a handy QR code that pops up with every reward you earn.
What is a Clubcard and is it worth getting one?
Equipping yourself with a Clubcard is the best way to bag a bargain at Tesco.
It's free to get one and you can have a virtual version or a physical card if you prefer - just sign up online and you can start cashing-in on discounts and loyalty offers right away.
You collect one point for every £1 spent in store and online and one for every £2 spent on fuel.
Then, one point is worth 1p of a future shop in Tesco - so you can earn money-off vouchers after you've racked up enough.
You can also trade them in for three times the value with Tesco’s reward partners, such as Hungry Horse pub or Cineworld.
And you get immediate discounts in-store and online with the Clubcard too.
How to avoid missing out on vouchers
If you're not quite in the loop with all your emails, or maybe you signed up originally with a now defunct address, the automatic switch over could mean you miss out on future vouchers.
To avoid that happening, log into your Clubcard account online and make sure you're opted back in to the post statements.
You'll have to click on "statement preferences" and change it to "by post" to do this.
But there's not long to follow those steps if you want to make sure you get your next statement through the letter box.
Switch it back by next Thursday and you'll guarantee the vouchers for May are sent to you in the mail.
That's not to say it's your only chance though - if you forget to make the switch by May 5 you'll be automatically sent your May vouchers by email.
But ticking the button any time after that just means you'll return to getting them by post again the next month, and any time after that.
Tesco issues its vouchers every three months, so that means you'd get your August statement sent by post again.
