Elderly council tower block residents ‘trapped for three days without food’ & left ‘feeling like prisoners’
LOCALS were trapped in their homes for three DAYS after the lift broke in their 16-storey block of flats.
Elderly and disabled residents of Lindsey Place in Anlaby Road, Hull, felt like "prisoners" over the weekend after the only lift stopped working.

Andy Bootyman, who has lived in the complex for the last eight years, said a man in his seventies was unable to leave his flat the whole weekend.
He said the man became weak and dehydrated after running out of food and trying desperately to call for help.
"It's been diabolical, but not only that, it's dangerous too," Andy said.
"What if there'd been a fire on one of the top floors or someone needed an ambulance? It's caused mayhem in the building all weekend.

"To wait three days for a fuse - it's ridiculous. It's been broken before but never for this long."
One tenant with mobility problems says she struggled to climb up and down 11 flights of stairs since the lift broke.
Tracy Briers, 55, needed food on Saturday but was left in agony trying to get to the bottom and back up.
She said: "On Saturday night I was crippled over with pain in my leg and felt sick as a dog. I just can't manage getting up the stairs and really felt trapped. It's been like lockdown all over again."
Her son Christopher, 25, was worried she would need medical attention and crews would take longer than normal to reach them.
A maintenance worker was sent out to the building on Friday but was unable to fix the problem that evening.
The fuse was finally replaced on Monday.
The lift is one of two installed in the dwelling, but the other one is already undergoing its own repair work.
The Sun has approached Hull City Council for comment.
