Home for £450-a-month looks amazing from outside… but wait until you see inside
A CITY centre home could be yours to rent at £450 a month - but there's one catch.
The Southampton property, which is found on a leafy street in a sought-after location, looks like it's been recently refurbished.
But the smart exterior hides a surprise inside - the one-person apartment is absolutely tiny.
The agent describes the modest rental as "petite" and at approximately 8ft x 6ft they're not wrong.
Photos online show one neat room that is a lounge and a bedroom and a kitchen all in one.
It contains a single bed, little bedside cabinet, a small fold up desk and a mini kitchen.
There appears to be no room for a fridge, washing machine and nowhere to hang up clothes at all.
An Elfin kitchen in the corner is equipped with two hob cookers, two cupboards, and a small sink, but there's hardly any space to cook anything exciting.
Beneath is just one cupboard, a microwave and two drawers for cutlery.
Tenants might also want to cut down on their wardrobe as there's only two pull out drawers under the bed and three shelves for their belongings.
The studio at least has an ensuite bathroom, albeit a miniature one, with a tiny sink, toilet and shower.
Only one window offers natural light into the unfurnished room.
Estate agents MYA Property Ltd listed the rental on the market on Wednesday, saying “Petite studio flat near town centre.
“Private shower room.
“Elfin kitchen with two hobs and a convection microwave.
“No parking.
“Electric, water are included in the rent.”

House-browsers have been left baffled by the tiddly property.
One said: “Smallest flat in the UK?”
Another wrote: “I can imagine the estate agency staff p*****g themselves laughing.
“I'm surprised ‘hobbit like’ didn't make it in there.”
A third commented: “Oh blimey that is depressing.”
A fourth added: “Being Southampton I would have thought student digs, right? Right?”

While one joked: “‘Petite’, ‘elfin’, someone’s got their thesaurus out.”
The property on Cranbury Terrace is available to rent at £450 per month.
