Full list of benefits that will get the £150 disability payment

MILLIONS of people on disability benefits will get a one-off payment to help them cover rising bills during the cost of living crisis.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak yesterday announced a raft of supportive measures for struggling households across the UK.

The biggest announcements were:

• a windfall tax on gas and oil firms to partially fund the support
• £300 one-off payment to low-income pensioners
• £150 extra one-off disability payment
• £400 energy discount for EVERY household
• An extra £500million for the Household Support Fund

Which people will receive the disability payment?

Roughly six million people across the UK who receive the following disability benefits will receive the one-off £150 payment by the end of September:

• Disability Living Allowance
• Personal Independence Payment
• Attendance Allowance
• Scottish Disability Benefits
• Armed Forced Independence Payment
• Constant Attendance Allowance
• War Pension Mobility Supplement

Claimants must have received, or begun an eventually successful claim for one of these benefits as of May 25 this year to be eligible for the £150 payment.

For the disability benefit recipients who receive means tested benefits, the £150 will come on top of the £650 they will receive separately.

These payments will be exempt from tax, will not count towards the benefit cap, and will not have any impact on existing benefit awards.

The government will make these payments directly to eligible people across the UK.

Who else will receive help?

It comes as a package of support worth up to £1,500 for some people was announced by Mr Sunak yesterday.

Among others eligible for help are people on Universal Credit and other means-tested benefits.

They will get a £650 one-off payment starting from July to help pay for things like energy, fuel and food, which have all risen in price in recent months.

The other payments which will be allocated out include:

Winter Fuel Payment

If you’re entitled to a Winter Fuel Payment for winter 2022 to 2023, you will get an extra £300 paid with your normal payment from November 2022. This is in addition to any Cost of Living Payment you get with your benefit or tax credits.

Tax credits

You may get a payment of £650 paid in 2 lump sums if you have an award of any of the following:

• Child Tax Credit
• Working Tax Credit

You will get one payment from autumn 2022 and a second payment from winter 2022, if you’re entitled.

Low income benefits

You may get a payment of £650 paid in 2 lump sums if you’re getting any of the following:

• Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• Income Support
• Pension Credit
• Universal Credit

You will get one payment from July 2022 and a second payment in autumn 2022, if you’re entitled.
