ICELAND shoppers will be keen to know the supermarket’s opening hours over the August bank holiday weekend.

Some shops and supermarkets reduce hours on public holidays to give staff some much-needed time off and due to trading laws.

That means Iceland may change its hours across many of its stores on the bank holiday on August 26.

Iceland has almost 1,000 stores nationwide and is one of the most popular supermarkets in the UK.

When will Iceland be open on the August bank holiday?

Most Iceland stores are usually open from 7am or 8am until 7pm, and in some cities, stores are open until 9pm.

Its stores are trading as usual on Saturday, May 25, and Sunday, May 26 – and shops are open on the bank holiday Monday too.

However, hours might vary depending on where you are in the country.

Supermarkets in shopping centres may also close earlier than those on high streets or retail parks.

To avoid disappointment, simply check your local’s opening hours ahead of time or give the shop a ring.

What are other businesses doing on the late August bank holiday?

Several other supermarkets have confirmed they will reduce their opening hours over the bank holiday.

Aldi stores in England and Wales are closing at 8pm on Monday, instead of the usual 10pm.

Meanwhile, Tesco’s larger stores are operating with reduced hours too, closing by 6pm.
