Three-bedroom house could be yours for just £10k – but it needs some serious work

A THREE-BED family home has gone on the market for less than the price of a second-hand Ford Fiesta - but there's a catch.

The property in Every Street, Burnley will go under the hammer for just £10,000 at the end of this month.

For the investment, the highest bidder will find three double bedrooms, two reception rooms, and even a little garden.

The end-of-terrace house lies within easy reach of a train station and local shops.

But only those with plenty of DIY know-how should make a bid.

That's because the property has fallen into a state of complete disrepair over the years.

It'll need a huge amount of work, time and money before the owner can move in themselves.

The problems are immediately noticeable from the street.

The house appears to have been targeted by vandals, with smashed windows and damage to the front door.

A sheet of plywood has been fitted over the glass in the living room to stop further problems.

Inside, every room is in need of work.

It appears that a refurbishment began in the kitchen - before the work was abandoned.

Counters are thick with plaster dust and some tiles have been ripped away.

Wallpaper in the bedrooms and on either side of the staircase is peeling away.

Broken glass covers bare floorboards in the master bedroom, while a hole appears to have opened up in the wall.

Despite the problems, an ambitious buyer will find much to like about the house.

It's close to schools and nurseries, and stands on the edge of a local park.

Pubs, takeaways and convenience stores all lie within a few minutes' walk.

DEAL OR NO DEAL

It's not the only dirt-cheap home in need of renovation currently available on the market.

One three-bed house in Grimsby is also available for £10,000.

But it'll need some serious TLC before the new buyer can drag in their furniture and plug in the kettle.

A four-bed London flat in significantly better condition is available for £25,000.

At the other end of the scale, a seven-bed mansion with its own vineyard is available in Kent for £1.5million.

Barnsole Vineyard, near Canterbury, has space for a whopping 25,000 bottles.
