Harvester makes major U-turn after threatening to scrap fan favourite
HARVESTER has U-turned on its decision to scrap the self-service salad bar after an outcry from Sun readers.
The chain was forced to back down after we revealed the all-you-can-eat spread was being ditched, sparking a customer backlash.
A source said: “Talks are under way between customer focus groups and the heads of the company and it is looking like the salad bar will go back to self-service.
"That is the direction it is going in.
“Customers were clearly upset after the news and that is something Harvester want to rectify.”
The salad bar has long been a favourite at the chain, which has 150 restaurants in the UK.

But diners were banned from loading up themselves with a member of staff serving food instead.
Pricier favourites such as bacon bits, olives and beetroot chunks were also being phased out as the cost-of-living crisis bites.
But diners demanded the return of the tongs, with thousands taking to social media to protest.
Many said they would no longer bother going as the salad-fest was the best part of their meal.
