Wetherspoons is selling pints for only £1.99 – but you’ll have to be quick

BEER drinkers will be saying "cheers" to Wetherspoon as the chain is selling pints starting at just £1.99 - but you'll have to be quick.

More than 820 Wetherspoon pubs across the country are taking part in a 12 day real ale festival this week.

A selection of ales, featuring ales brewed only using British-grown hop varieties, will be available as part of the festival.

Wetherspoons said pints will be available from £1.99, but prices will vary across all pubs, so it's just to check at the bar first.

And you'll have to be quick - as the festival is only set to run for 12 days and will end on Sunday, October 23.

A number of ales will be available at pubs for the first time, including some brewed especially for the festival.

You can find your local Wetherspoons on the pub chain's website.

Festival organiser Jen Swindells said: "The festival is a great celebration of real ale all made using only British-grown hop varieties.

"It will allow us to showcase a selection of superb ales over a 12-day period and support the British hop industry too.

"The hop varieties include Jester, Fuggles, First Gold, Opus, Goldings and Godiver."

"The ales will be available at great value for money prices."

All the ales are available to order at the bar, or via the Wetherspoons app.

Wetherspoons has gained a loyal army of fans who flock to the boozer for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

It recently announced it was offering discount vouchers with up to £100 off food and drink - but only for students.

But the boozer also frequently gives customers the chance to save money at the bar - including slashing the price of its pints by 7.5% once a year.

It will come as great news to 'Spoons customers, who have seen prices bump up on their favourite drinks recently.

In March, it reportedly added 10p to the cost of a pint, and 20p for pubs in London.

But the pub chain’s boss, Tim Martin, hinted at further hikes, stating that soaring prices of labour, food and energy bills have put “considerable pressure on costs”.

But don't worry, as there are still ways to save money at Wetherspoons.

Having your trusty  means you can cash-in on all the latest deals and discounts at your local.

It's free download, and even lets you order at the table too.

Wetherspoon offers discounted dinners as part of its Steak and Curry Clubs.

It's worth joining in the craze as you can get something like a gourmet steak and a beer over a pound cheaper than normal.

You used to be able to order the menus only on certain days of the week but Wetherspoon made the dishes available everyday back in June last year.
