SHOPPERS crashed the Aldi website in a rush to get their hands on a Specialbuy air fryer that can slash your energy bill.
Some waited for three hours for a chance to buy the £89.99 Ambiano Dual Basket air fryer, only to be thrown out at the online checkout.
More than 115,000 people were in a virtual queue at 9.50am - almost two hours after the air fryer went on sale.
A message to queuing shoppers posted on the website said: "We're very sorry, but there are currently lots of people trying to access the Aldi website.
"We've automatically placed you in a queue. Don't worry about refreshing - the page will update automatically."
Aldi fans took to social media to complain about the website, with some calling the system "a joke".

"It was nigh on impossible- I started trying at 7am."
While another said: "I was in their online web queue. There were 94,500 before me!! Think I’ll give up."
And a third said: "I’ve tried all morning can’t even get air fryer up on Aldi at all. I've been on it since 7.45 and it crashed after 10 mins."

An Aldi spokesperson told The Sun: "The demand for our Specialbuys was extremely high this morning and as a result customers may have been held in a queue to enter the website.
"This was to improve customer experience on the website when they entered and made their purchase.”
They added that the website is now running as normal.
Aldi's air fryer costs £89.99 - which is £110 cheaper than the popular Ninja foodi dual zone air fryer.
It's got seven automatic cooking programmes and two heating elements to cook two different food simultaneously.
The handy kitchen gadget can reach a temperature of 200C and it's got a 60-minute timer too, so you know when your food is cooked to perfection.
Plus, the coated frying basket is non-stick, which should mean little to no mess cleaning up after dinner.
The only catch is that the device is in high demand, so if you want to catch the bargain at a similar price, you'll have to be quick.
It's also important to remember that you will have to pay for delivery if you order online, so make sure you factor this in before buying.
And if you missed out on buying the air fryer online, it will be in stores from November 13.
You also might want to call ahead to your local store to check if the discount is applied, to avoid disappointment.
And before you commit to a purchase, you should have a shop around.
Use price comparison tools like Google Shopping to find similar products from other retailers and compare prices.
You might find there's an even better offer out there.
It comes as energy bills are still heavily on everyone’s minds, and people have been coming up with hacks to save on bills this winter.
This has seen air fryers gain popularity over the last few months as under the new price cap, using one for 15 minutes costs just 13p.
But don't worry, there are similar air fryers being sold elsewhere with a similar price tag.
The Otek 4.5L air fryer is priced at £59.99 on Amazon and comes with an adjustable temperature control and pre-set cooking times.
If you order online, it's important remember to factor in the cost of delivery before you buy it.
