Shoppers rush to buy B&M winter essential reduced to just 10p – and it could help you avoid switching heating on

One savvy shopper spotted a Sherpa throw for just 10p in their local B&M store and shared it in the group.

They said: "Mega bargain today in B&M. Picked these up for Christmas presents.

"Thought the price sounded low with all my shopping.

"Looked at the receipt to find these scanned through at 10p each - 60p for six blankets."

The blanket isn't currently listed on B&M's website, so those hoping to bag the bargain will have to try their luck in store.

You can find your nearest branch using the store finder online, but it's best to call your local B&M before making a trip over there to avoid disappointment.

A B&M spokeswoman told The Sun the deal was available through the B&M app.

The app, which contains a free barcode scanner, allows customers to discover discounted items before the staff have even reduced them.

The spokeswoman added: "We have end-of-line items that are marked down to 10p to clear across our departments that tend to have few units left in stores."

The Facebook post was accompanied by a photo of the blankets, which amassed 2.8K likes and almost 800 comments.

One person in the comments said: "I love a bargain."

While another added: "This is perfect, I'm definitely going to check."

And a third said: "Wow amazing bargains. They look beautiful."

Similar blankets are on sale on the B&M website for between £10 and £15.

But remember, if you order online, you will have to pay a delivery charge, so make sure you factor this into your budget.

Throws and bedding can also be found at several retailers such as Amazon.

We found a blanket on Amazon for just £13.99 and a similar style double duvet cover for £15.

The Sun recommends always shopping around for the best deal.

It comes as people are starting to stock up for winter in a bid to stay warm without turning their heating on.

There has already been a significant rise in the purchase of heated blankets and other cosy warmers.

How does the B&M app work?

B&M shoppers say they've saved hundreds of pounds by using the store's free barcode scanner.

The tool allows them to discover discounted items before the staff have even reduced them.

The scanner lets you see if the item's price is cheaper than advertised on the shop shelf.

Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift, or they're labelled "big brands" and "big savings".

It's a terrific hack to use, especially since the cost of living keeps rising.

The scanner is completely free as well - you just need to download the B&M app.

One savvy mum revealed how she saved £90 in B&M thanks to the scanner.
