Shoppers rush to supermarkets to get their hands on ‘bargain’ real Christmas trees – with prices as low as £1.87

SHOPPERS are flocking to supermarkets to get their hands on “bargain” real Christmas trees as shops begin flogging their stock.

It comes after Tesco shoppers managed to bag real Christmas trees worth £30 for just £6 earlier this week.

Supermarkets are slashing the price of their real Christmas trees before the big day

But one shopper managed to get a real Christmas tree from Asda for just £1.87.

Posting on Facebook’s Extreme Couponing and Bargains group, one user wrote: “Just a Christmas tree with roots from Asda for £1.87 reduced from £25. I never get a bargain so naturally pleased.”

Other shoppers were quick to confirm that they’d also got cheap real trees after other supermarkets knocked their prices down just in time for the big day.

“That’s a bargain. I got a similar one from my local Waitrose, but for £5,” one shopper said.

Another said: “Well done good bargain. Mine was reduced from £25 to £5 in my local Tesco. I was chuffed to bits.”

But others missed out after visiting their local supermarkets to find that the bargain trees had all sold out.

In comparison, Wilko is selling a real 6ft Christmas tree for £65, while B&Q has 1-metre trees for £26.

While Tesco was caught offering the best deals on real trees earlier this week, it appears that Asda has now beaten them on the price.

Tesco’s smaller potted trees have been reduced to £5 – down from £25 to £30 originally.

While the larger trees have been reduced from around £30 to £6.25.

The discounts offered on Tesco’s real trees are only available to Clubcard customers.

If you go without it or don’t have one, then you won’t be able to get the discount.

You can register for a Clubcard either via the Tesco Clubcard app or by going to the Tesco website.
