‘World’s luckiest woman’ scoops £123k lottery jackpot with her FIRST EVER ticket after ‘spur of the moment’ decision
A WOMAN has been dubbed the ‘world's luckiest woman’ after winning a whopping £123,500 with her first ever lottery ticket.
Rebecca Powell made a spur of the moment decision to buy a £3.37 ticket to enter the Power Play on Saturday, January 7, before bagging the huge £123k prize.
The lucky winner, from North Carolina, USA, checked her results hours after the draw had closed, and was shocked to see that she had won ‘a fortune’.
The ticket matched numbers on four white balls and the red Powerball to win £41,100 but Rebecca's prize tripled after the 3X Power Play multiplier hit.
Rebecca, 48, told the North Carolina Education Lottery: “I thought I’d just give it a try. The lady at the store told me, ‘you truly have beginner's luck’.
"It's like a dream. Except I haven't been able to sleep.
"When they did the Powerball drawing, I was looking at the numbers and then I screamed at my husband. I said, 'Oh my God we won.'"
