A MAN has revealed how a Martin Lewis tip saved him £2,000 on his holiday.
The money saving expert shared the story of signalman Paul with viewers of his ITV show tonight.
Paul explained that he became ill before he got around to buying travel insurance for a trip to Spain, leaving him £2,000 out of pocket.
He then decided to make a second attempt once he had recovered and was fortunate to come across Martin's advice.
He said: "Last summer before we booked the holiday I was watching Martin Lewis and he said to get your travel insurance when you book.
"Two days before we were due to fly out I collapsed at home and got taken into hospital with kidney stones.

"I thought there were going to be loads of questions and loads of forms but there weren't."
Three weeks later, the insurance company paid out in full, allowing Paul to book the same trip again so he could finally take his well-deserved break.
He sent in a clip to the show from his getaway, saying: "Just an update for you Martin. He we are in Spain thanks to your advice.
"We've got the sea, the sun, the sand and two grand."

Martin's top tip is to buy your travel insurance ASAB (as soon as you book) to protect you against anything that might force you to cancel last minute.
The personal finance guru's show returned tonight for the second of a two-part special series, this time focussing on summer holiday tips.
As well as travel insurance, he advised viewers on the best debit and credit cards to use both in and outside of the EU and warned about expiring health insurance cards.
The show will return for a full series in October.
