Sainsbury’s confirms major Nectar and price change – and shoppers will be delighted
SAINSBURY'S has made a major change to its Nectar Card - and it's good news for shoppers.
One of the UK's biggest retailers has from today added a number frozen foods to its Nectar Price range.
Customers signed up to the loyalty card will now pay less on over 5,000 products in-store and online.
Meanwhile, Sainsbury's has added 40 products to its Aldi Price Match range, which now totals over 400 items.
Shoppers can pick up everything from blueberries to milk and toilet paper for the same price as the German discounter.
New additions to the Price Match range include own-brand soups, burger buns and Bramley apple pies.

Of course, just because Sainsbury's is offering exclusive discounts to loyalty card customers on some of its products, you should always check if you can find them cheaper elsewhere.
Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across a range of high street retailers, including Tesco, Iceland and Asda.
It's a great tool if you want to see which retailer is offering the cheapest prices on a specific product.
Bear in mind the website shares data based on online prices and not in-store though.
We had a quick look on Trolley to see if any other retailers are selling some of the new Nectar price additions for less.
Sainsbury's comes out on top on the 270g Linda McCartney six vegetarian sausages.
The next cheapest option is Asda, which currently has a three for £5 offer, meaning a single pack works out at roughly £1.66.
Meanwhile, Sainsbury's wins the price test on the 332g Goodfella's Stonebaked Thin Pepperoni Pizza.
The next cheapest option is Tesco, which is selling the same pizza to Clubcard holders for £1.75.
The 280g Birds Eye Omega 3 Fish Fingers x10 are the cheapest at Sainsbury's too.
The next most expensive is Asda which is selling them online for £2.
What is the Nectar Card?
Sainsbury's has been part of the Nectar scheme since 2002, buying it out in 2018.
Under it, customers collect points when buying certain products or goods, in-store and online.
You receive one loyalty point for every £1 spent.
You also get one point for every £1 spent on fuel bought at Sainsbury's petrol stations and can pick up points at hundreds of partners as well, including Esso and eBay.
You can register and download an e-Nectar Card by downloading the app on your smartphone.
You then have to swipe it every time you shop and the points are added to your account, which can be used to get money off future purchases.
Each point is effectively worth 0.5p, meaning you need 500 points to get £2.50 off.

Sainsbury's also launched Nectar Prices in April, offering customers exclusive discounts on hundreds of products in a bid to rival Tesco's Clubcard.
It has since rolled out Nectar Prices to over 5,000 products as it looks to draw customers in from other retailers.
