Vinted is an online marketplace where people can buy and sell their pre-loved items.

It has grown in popularity in recent years and you can pick anything up from clothing and toys, to homeware and baby items.

Natacha says that people are most active around 9pm when it comes to shopping on Vinted.

And she adds that the most popular day for shopping in the UK is Sunday, so if you can it is worth getting online then.

She also recommends haggling out of season to see if you can get a better price for certain items.

Natacha said: "If you look for a bikini in winter, or a jumper during summer, there's less competition for the best items.

"Not only can you get items for less anyway, but you can then haggle on top and be in an even better position to get a further discount."

You can also see how long an item has been listed on Vinted, and this is a good place to look if you want to start haggling.

If something has been online for a few months, it could be that the seller is keen to get the item sold and will accept a lower price.

Natacha adds that it is also possible to tempt the seller into offering you a discount if you don't feel confident in making the first move.

"Just favourite items you wish to buy," she said.

Some sellers set up notifications each time their item is "favourited" and many sellers then reach out to potential buyers to see if they can seal the deal.

Some buyers will even offer an immediate discount when they see an item of theirs has been favourited.

Buying in bundles is another way Natacha says you might have a chance of getting a cheaper deal.

This is when you buy multiple items from one seller - in other words a "bundle".

You can haggle for a discount per item or for a collection of items, plus this could save you money on paying for separate delivery charges.

Other ways to buy and sell second-hand items

There are lots of other ways you can buy and sell second-hand items.

Most of the apps are free, but some may take a fee or commission so do double-check before signing up.

Depop

Depop is popular because it is easy to use and looks a bit like Instagram.

It tailors the listings that shoppers see according to brands and styles they have previously liked and searched for.

You don't pay anything to list on Depop but you do pay a 10% commission on anything you sell.

Preloved

Preloved lets you post online adverts that are specifically targeted at people in your area.

This means you can arrange for buyers to pick up the items they have purchased and pay on delivery so that you save on postage.

You can get a free basic membership or pay an annual fee of £5-15 for extra features that can boost your listings.

Facebook Marketplace

Most people have a Facebook account so this is a convenient way to sell.

You might not get a high price for your items on Facebook Marketplace as users are usually looking for a bargain.

Listing items is free and you don't pay a commission.

eBay

You can list up to 1,000 for free on eBay.

You will pay a commission of 12.8% on what you sell, plus a 30p fee.

You will also pay more if your item sells for over £2,500 or if you want to add a "buy it now" or fixed price.

This means your buyer can make a purchase right away, instead of going through a bidding process.

One savvy seller has revealed how she makes £800 a month from selling on Vinted.
