We’re wine experts – the best supermarket bottles to buy now revealed
IT can be easy to dismiss supermarket wine as poor quality.
Shoppers often ignore wines that carry the supermarket's own branding, instead buying big-name brands or better-known grapes varieties.
But experts at Good Housekeeping have cherry-picked the very best own-brand bottles to buy right now.
Many of these own-brand wines beat big-brand rivals in taste and value.
In fact, the winning tipple in Good Housekeeping's 2023 taste test costs just £6.99 a bottle.
The publication's panel saw 10 wine experts sample over 70 bottles at a variety of supermarkets at several different price points.

Tesco won three of the best wine categories for Malbec, Torrontes and Shiraz - beating big-name rivals like Aldi, Lidl, Co-Op, Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Waitrose.
But Lidl also managed to win two categories in the taste test and one of its wines came out top overall.
Its £6.99 Azinhaga de Ouro Portugese Red DOC Douro Reserva was given the highest score out of the 20 wines which made the leaderboard.
The bottle won the best supermarket red wine category and received a score of 90 out of 100.
