Only Fools and Horses fan’s Nag’s Head tribute boozer is among finalists in Pub Shed of the Year

AN Only Fools and Horses fan’s Nag’s Head tribute garden boozer is among the finalists in this year’s Pub Shed of the Year competition.

Shane Rankin’s The Nag's Shed boasts a Trotters Independent Trading retro arcade machine.

It also has a bar, seating area, dart board and big-screen TVs.

Shane said he came up with the idea the day lockdown was announced and pubs were closed.

But the Only Fools theme for the shed in Stoke was finalised only when a horseshoe was found while digging the foundations.

“A quick clean off revealed an old cast iron horseshoe, more than likely discarded from an old pit pony from the colliery.

“This fate nailed it for us and took it as a sign of history and settled upon The Nag's Shed.”

Shane’s creation is up against a fire station-style pub shed in Anna Valley, Hants, and an Irish bar-themed retreat in Hayle, Cornwall.

The three finalists will go to a public vote and the winner will be announced live on Pub Shed Radio on November 11.
