The Midcounties Co-op store at the Templars Square Shopping Centre, near Oxford, is set to pull down its shutters next year.
A spokesperson for the retailer confirmed the closure to The Sun but did not reveal the exact date it will shut.
Local residents have shared their devastation following the announcement.
One said: "Retail is dying. Soon have to buy online so sad. It's a sign of the times what a shame."
A second said: "Won't be any shops left at this rate."

Figures from the British Retail Consortium reveal 6,000 retail outlets have closed their doors for good in the last five years.
The trade association said the closures are in part due to "crippling" business rates and the impact of Covid lockdowns.
