Full list of shops and supermarkets closing on Boxing Day

THE big Boxing Day sales are here and this year there are more bargains on offer than ever before.
Today is the day many retailers will be hoping to flog excess stock in an effort to make room for Spring lines and ranges.
This year Christmas Day fell on a weekend which meant shoppers had an extended weekend with two bank holidays to search out for deals.
Aldi
Aldi has announced it will close all of its stores this year on Boxing Day as a thank-you to its colleagues for their hard work.
Stores will reopen as usual on Wednesday 27 so customers can pick up their New Year essentials.
B&Q
B&Q also won’t be open on Boxing Day, in fact, shoppers only had until 4pm on Christmas Eve to do their shopping.
The DIY store will reopen again on December 27 at 7am and stay open until New Year’s Eve.
Home Bargains
Home Bargains has said all its stores will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day to ensure that all its staff enjoy the festive period with their loved ones.
The budget retailer has also confirmed it closed all its stores at the earlier time of 5pm on Christmas Eve.
Homebase
All Homebase stores will be closed on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
On Christmas Eve stores were only open from 10:00am – 4:00pm.
Iceland
Iceland has confirmed it will also be giving its staff days off during the festive period.
Iceland will be closing all its food warehouse stores across the country on December 25 and 26.
John Lewis and Waitrose
Most John Lewis and Waitrose stores will be closing on Christmas and Boxing day.
But a small number of stores will remain open. Some shops will be open for Deliveroo or Uber Eats orders on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Poundland
Last month Poundland announced it would be closing Christmas Day as normal but stores will remain closed on Boxing Day and on New Year’s Day too.
The retailer has followed this pattern for three years.
Lidl
Lidl will also be closed throughout the Christmas period, so its staff can enjoy a festive break.
The retailer recommends you check your local stores’ opening hours and plans ahead if you’re looking to head into the store from 27 December onwards.
M&S
Marks and Spencer has confirmed it will be shut on Boxing Day despite it being such a big day for shoppers.
You should check your local stores opening hours for dates after 27 December as they will vary.

Next store’s opening hours over Christmas will vary depending on the branch so it’s worth checking ahead. But all of its stores close on Christmas Day.

Screwfix
All Screwfix stores will close doors on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, before re-opening once more on December 27.
But remember, opening and closing times may vary depending on the location of the store.
Wickes
Wickes decided to close its doors 24 hours earlier than other retailers.
The retailer was shut over Christmas Eve and will be closed on Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.
Dunelm
Which stores are open on Boxing Day?
Asda, B&M, Boots, Co-op, Morrisons, Ikea, Primark, Sainsbury’s and Tesco will re-open their stores as usual.
