ONE in six of us plans to go alcohol-free next month, but some zero-booze substitutes are nearly 20 per cent dearer, the Sun on Sunday can reveal.

Alcohol Change UK, the charity behind Dry January, has revealed that 30 per cent of male tipplers and 26 per cent of female ones would like to drink less in 2024.

Sales of non-alcoholic drinks have risen 120 per cent since 2020 and there is now a staggering £450million market in booze alternatives.

Sarah Arnold looks at how the alcohol-free versions match up to similar booze-filled offerings.
