‘You get rid of Breakaway for THIS?’ fume Nestle fans as chocolate giant launches new flavour of classic bar
Plus find out where you can pick up some recently discontinued chocolate bars
CHOCOLATE fans have been left fuming after seeing the new Nestle chocolate bar which hit stores this month.
After the chocolatiers confirmed they were axing two fan-favourite chocolate bars it seems fans are not pleased with its new replacement the Blue Riband Hazelnut.
Nestle confirmed last week that it was discontinuing both Breakaway and Yorkie biscuit bars following a decline in sales in a blow for sweet-toothed fans.
The Breakaway bar, first introduced in 1970, will no longer be produced from March.
Meanwhile, Yorkie biscuit bars, not to be confused with Yorkie chocolate bars, have already been axed.
At the same time, the chocolatier announced fans would soon spot a new chocolate bar on shop shelves.
Nestle said: “One new biscuit coming to market is Blue Riband Hazelnut.”
“It’s the delicious Blue Riband bar people know and love, with a smooth hazelnut filling layered between the wafers.”
“Available in-store across UK supermarkets from February.”
Fans took to social media to mourn the loss of the recently discontinued Breakaway and Yorkie biscuit bars and many shunned the new Blue Riband bar.
One user said: “They got rid of breakaways for this.”
Another said: “Nope…you get rid of Breakaway and bring in this??? Not on!”
However, not all fans were disappointed to see the new reveal many said they were excited to try the new bar.
A third user said: “Thanks nestle for the new hazelnut bar.”
The Blue Riband Hazelnut is now available in Asda for £1.05 per 6 x 18g bar.
The bar will be available in stores and online though its prices may vary from store to store.
Shoppers can also get their hands on a newly launched Kitkat Chunky White Lotus and Aero Choco Hazelnut bar from this month.
Nestle fans may still be recovering from the heartbreaking news that 60-year-old Caramac bars have also been axed.
So it’s no surprise fans have been hunting down recently discontinued chocolate bars.
Milky Way crispy rolls have been spotted back on shop shelves and fans can hardly believe it.
