Fans have also been lapping up the similar new spread - an irresistibly sweet Hazelnut Praline topping.

The £2 jar is packed with hazelnuts infused with cocoa and vanilla extract for a unique flavour.

The Sun has also tested chocolate spreads against Nutella with the winner only costing half the price.

Nutella is an instantly recognisable taste with smooth, thick, gooey hazelnut and cocoa spread - it tastes just like a whole jar of the soft centre of a Ferrero chocolate.

Lindt is also now selling a hazelnut spread to rival Nutella.

The chocolate maker claims its "smooth mixture" retains the "full chocolate aroma" of its iconic treats.
