‘Yes yes yes’ cry Wetherspoons fans as chain slashes price of Guinness for St Patrick’s Day starting TODAY
It's not the only way fans can save money at Spoons this weekend
IT’S St Patrick’s weekend and Wetherspoons fans are delighted as the pub chain is slashing the price of Guinness to celebrate.
The pub chain is launching deals today to mark the cultural holiday on Sunday (March 17).
Punters can get special offers on a range of Irish tipples from now until Sunday.
It is likely to be a hit with rugby fans ahead of the Ireland v Scotland Six Nations clash on Saturday afternoon.
Wetherspoons said the offer prices will apply across all of its 814 pubs, with the exception of those at airports and, ironically, the Republic of Ireland.
Pints of Guinness and Budweiser will be priced at £2.99 nationally.
A Guinness is usually priced at around £3.45 at Wetherspoons pubs, meaning you could save up to 46p on the price of a pint.
Punters can also get a shot of baby Guinness – made from coffee liqueur Kahlúa and Baileys – for £2.99 each.
Jameson Irish whiskey will also be priced at £2.99 for a a single measure and a mixer.
Lough Gill Andersons Irish Red Ale will be the cheapest pint across the three days. It will have a price tag of just £1.99 for a pint.
Fans have been sharing their excitement over the St Patrick’s Day deals on social media.
One Facebook user said: “Yes yes yes!!”
Another wrote: “Wetherspoon’s doing a good deal for St Patrick’s weekend.”
A third added: “Great news for St Patrick’s Day.”
St Patrick’s Day isn’t the only time Wetherspoons fans can get cheaper beer at its pubs.
Branches of Spoons are also currently taking part in a 12-day real ale festival.
It began on Wednesday (March 6) and will also end on Sunday.
Wetherspoons regulars have the opportunity to sample beers from Belgium, Germany, Italy, Taiwan and the USA.
The pub chain said its festival beers are available for £1.99 at 50 pubs, but the vast majority of branches have prices starting from £2.49.
It’s a good idea to double-check the price of a pint before you order so you aren’t caught out if it’s a little more than you expected.
