The money couldn't have come at a better time for Beth, who runs a playgroup.

She aims to finish her house with the prize money and upgrade all her appliances.

Beth added: "I run a playgroup for the local community.

" I set the group up while I was on maternity leave with my second son.

"There are some bits I've had my eye on that I've wanted to buy for a while, so it'll be nice to get that."

Matt Johnson, Street Prize Presenter, revealed to Beth, from Dursley, that she had won the jackpot.

It comes after a retired NHS nurse who secured £12,000 a month for a year claimed she used to have terrible luck.

Megg Carr, 69, was stunned after learning she had won a total of £144,000 in the People's Postcode Lottery.

However, the retired nurse and her husband Andy revealed they were kicked out of their home in 1992 and weren't able to buy it back for 22 years.

The mum-of-five from North Yorkshire, said: "It was heartbreaking to leave."

The family was forced to move out of their home when British Coal successfully got a compulsory purchase order.

Megg has since bought the back house and is excited to use her newly-earned cash to transform it.

The retired nurse also aims to treat her five daughters and seven grandchildren, saying: "There are a lot of things on their lists that we can tick now."

And this lorry driver quit his job in "minutes" after learning he had won an eye-watering lotto jackpot.

Tony Hedley was in the middle of his shift when his wife Christine, 65, phoned him to tell him the good news.

After pulling over, 65, told him they had scooped up two prizes of £166,666 making a total of £333,000.
