So it’s clear there’s appetite for the chain’s cheap bites as households contend with a higher cost of living.

It comes as The Sun exclusively revealed that Greggs is planning to open six more outlet stores in the UK.

Plus, Greggs boss Roisin Currie told The Sun it will have 2,500 shops in the UK by the end of this month as part of her target to achieve 3,000.

But you might not be aware of one trick which could save you even more on your next trip.

Pastry lovers can snap up a pizza slice and regular hot or cold drink meal deal for £3.50 before 4pm seven days a week.

But wait until after 4pm and the price drops to £2.85 – almost 20% cheaper.

It means shoppers can save themselves 65p just by waiting a few minutes extra to order.

Anyone looking to snap up the offer can do so at the vast majority of Greggs’ stores, subject to availability.

You can find your nearest Greggs location by using the chain’s store locator on its website.

Those buying speciality hot drinks will have to pay 50p extra and there is sometimes an additional charge for branded soft drinks.

You may also have to pay more for the meal deal if you are eating in-store.

The offer also can’t be redeemed at Greggs inside MOTO forecourts across the UK.

Greggs superfan Tony Collins previously revealed his top tips for saving money on your next trip.

He said to make the most of outlet stores, that sell baked goods at knockdown prices, usually because they’re a day old.

The chain says the food is still fresh and a percentage of the profits goes to charity.

How much you’ll save varies, Tony revealed, but he said he usually gets around 20% off compared to normal prices.
