A 50ft Dutch barge has gone up for sale with an asking price of £99,950 - and you would need a deposit of £9,995.

It is 12ft wide and features a kitchen with gas hobs and oven/grill, a lounge area with a wood-burning stove, and a bedroom with a double bed and fitted shelving/rails.

Other features include a compost toilet, shower, sink, and washing machine.

The barge has a current boat safety certificate until June 28, 2025, and was last out of the water in May 2013 for a full survey.

However, you should be aware of the risks associated with living in a houseboat, as last month a couple revealed their home sank just weeks after they moved in.

Keith Gray and Niall Senior used their life savings to buy the refurbished boat, which had a beautiful oak kitchen, green marble bathroom and even a sauna.

But in January 2024 their dream ended in tears when the vessel and all their worldly possessions ended up at the bottom of a Manchester canal.

Appearing on the BBC’s Rip Off Britain, Keith said: “It just feels like a complete nightmare, but the nightmare is real. Actually the time we did spend on the boat, that's almost a dream that’s long gone.”

If you are looking to buy a beach hut in a sought-after location, this tiny property in Worthing, West Sussex, might be the one for you.

With a guide price of £45,000 and a small deposit of £4,500, this "beautifully decorated" beach hut could become yours.

There are approximately 96 years remaining on the lease and no other associated costs "unless of course the buyer wishes to take out their own insurance", the listing adds.

Parking is available at the rear of the hut and public toilets are just a short walk away.

The listing says: "The property is ideally located for Bluebird cafe and walks along the Rife and South Ferring village.

"All enquiries are to the seller's sole agents and viewings are available by request."

However, beach hut regulations change depending on the location, as usually while a chalet has a licence to be slept in overnight, a hut doesn't.

Finding out if you can sleep in a beach hut is usually straightforward and you would need to contact your local council to find out.
