A TINY island on the River Thames has gone on the market for £75,000 - one third the cost of a premium London parking space.

Temple Weir Island, which measures just 2,000 sq ft, is located in Bisham, close to the town of Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

The isolated landmass is even smaller than a tennis court - which typically measure just under 2,800 sq ft.

It comes in at one third the cost of a single car parking space in London which, as The Sun revealed in March, was selling for £225,000.

Temple Weir Island has previously been used for fishing and mooring boats.

Property agents say that a domed stone pergola in the middle of the island makes for an "interesting and attractive" feature.

They described it as a "rare opportunity" for someone to buy their own "off-grid sanctuary".

While private islands are typically seen as a status symbol for the rich and famous, they are typically located in tropical conditions surrounded by crystal clear water - not along rainy southern England.

This island is surrounded by the murky waters of the Thames with curious fishermen sometimes seen looking on from the plush banks of the river.

The land is now being sold through Savills estate agents and advertised on Rightmove.

Richard Maby, a property agent, said: “The seller has used the island for mooring a private vessel and recreational use, such as private entertainment and fishing.

“One side has a built-up mooring, the other a more natural tree-lined bank.

“A domed stone pergola also stands in the middle of the island, which makes for an interesting and attractive feature.

“It’s a rare opportunity for someone to purchase their own off-grid sanctuary.

“For those with a spirit for adventure, who are looking for somewhere they can escape to after a busy day, it’s the perfect hideaway.”

Car parking space goes on sale for £225,000

A SINGLE car parking space in London went on the market for £225,000 - the same price as a three-bedroom home in parts of the country, The Sun revealed in March.

The lot is in a secure lockup only a stone's throw away from Hyde Park, but only smaller cars might be able to fit.

The 6m by 3m metre park on Prince Consort Road in London's SW7 has an entrance in the lockup that is only 2.66m wide.

Most Range Rovers, beloved by west Londoners who might purchase the park, are slightly over two metres wide, leaving only a sliver of room.

The park was for sale on Rightmove and located underneath Albert Court, an apartment complex next to Royal Albert Hall.

The building has a history of expensive car parks, with one going on sale for £400,000 in 2014 and another for £275,000 in 2013.

The description read: "A very secure `lock up` underground garage located under Albert Court. South Steps.

"The garage requires a key card for access and has CCTV in operation 24hrs per day. There is also access to water within the garage space."
