BRITAIN’S cheapest doner kebab has been pulling in satisfied diners for 31 years.
Kebab Corner, in Bradford, West Yorkshire, sells its signature dish of doner and chips for just £4.
And the huge tasty portion has got food bloggers flocking to the cafe and now The Sun has sampled the meal and given it five stars for flavour and price.
Kebab Corner boss Mohammed Ummar, 39, runs the family business with his elder brother Mohammed Jawad, 41, and is proud of the low cost of the quality food.
The brothers took over in 2013 after Kebab Corner founder, their dad Mohammed Hanif, 73, retired from the eatery he established in the Oastler Shopping Centre, Bradford, in 1993.
Mohammed said: “Kebab Corner has evolved over the years but our secret home made mint sauce and red chilli sauce, which the customers love, have remained unchanged for 31 years.
“We have so many regulars, and we also attract new customers with our pricing. We have a lot of professionals, doctors and so on, who come on a Saturday when they are not working.
“We get different people on different days of the week.”
When The Sun visited on Tuesday lunchtime it was popular with mothers and children.
There are around 30 chairs around tables for those wishing to eat in the shopping centre, but as many people orders he meals to take out.
Mohammed said: “We have customers who used to come as kids and now they bring their own kids here.
“My father is very traditional and has done everything with regards Islamic principles, and it is a strong Islamic principle that products in the market should never be out of reach of the common man.
“I would rather keep the prices down and satisfy the customer. I know our prices are under priced and I could charge more.
“I’m a 100 per cent proud of our products and the price we sell them at.”
Kebab Corner sells doner and chips for £4, and another popular dish, fish masala and chips for £6.
YouTube food bloggers such as Danny Malin, who is the face of Rate My Takeaway, TFT Street Food Reviews, Foodie Anz and Heyman Food Reviews have all taste tested the bargain doner and chips and agreed it had super flavours.
Truck driver Raja Ashfaq, 42, and his daughter Amira, 20, a student, have been regular diners at Kebab Corner since she was a baby.
“I used to bring her in a pram,” said Raja, tucking into fish masala and chips.
“The quality here is always impeccable and really good value for money.
“We must come here once or twice a week for a meal. we love it.”
Amira said:”When I haven’t been here for a while I am craving my next meal.
“The staff are friendly and the foods is fantastic and so affordable.”
Phone shop worker Ali Hussain, 23, said:”Me and my friends live coming her for lunch and the doner meal.
“You get huge portions of really tasty doner meat with salad and crispy chips and I love the chill sauce they make here.”
