If you are not, it might be worth swapping so that you pay for the exact amount you use — and then lowering your consumption — rather than relying on an average charge.

Just one dripping tap can waste up to nine litres of water every day, according to Thames Water.

And turn off taps when you’re brushing your teeth or shaving.
TEA FOR ONE: Kettles can typically hold 1.5 litres of water, yet you only need 250ml on average for a cuppa.
You’ll save by only filling up with what you need.
